Bangkok day tour away from city by darkwingdave

You’ve visited the markets and gardens and sights of Bangkok and now you’re wondering what to do next. There are many fascinating adventures and remarkable places just a day trip away and here are just a few to consider!

Samut Sakhon is a province that was originally called “The Chin” due to the many foreigners that used the location as a trading port. It’s easily reached by car, train or bus and has a number of must see sights such as the Damnoen Saduak Floating market, Luang Pho To Temple and the Bodhisattva Kuan statue. Make sure you visit the fresh seafood market, reportedly the largest in Thailand.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”16px”][vc_single_image image=”3016″ css_animation=”fadeInUp” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_rounded” border_color=”grey” img_link_large=”yes” img_link_target=”_self” title=”Damnean Saduak Floating Market” img_size=”full”][vc_empty_space height=”16px”][vc_single_image image=”3015″ css_animation=”fadeInUp” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_rounded” border_color=”grey” img_link_large=”yes” img_link_target=”_self” title=”Damnean Saduak Floating Market” img_size=”full”][vc_empty_space height=”16px”][vc_single_image image=”3014″ css_animation=”fadeInUp” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_rounded” border_color=”grey” img_link_large=”yes” img_link_target=”_self” title=”Damnean Saduak Floating Market” img_size=”full”][vc_empty_space height=”16px”][vc_column_text]When it’s time to hit the beach, which of course makes sense in a tropical climate, you should consider Pattaya Beach. It’s only 90 minutes from Bangkok and most people stay overnight so they don’t have to rush through everything.  The variety of food is amazing; Mexican, American, Italian, German and  Scandinavian along with incredible local mouth-watering favorites.  You can spend time in the surf and sun with any number of water sports and activities or you can work out in one of the local gyms or go bowling, play tennis or get in a few games of paintball.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”16px”][vc_single_image image=”3013″ css_animation=”fadeInUp” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_rounded” border_color=”grey” img_link_large=”yes” img_link_target=”_self” title=”Pattaya Beach” img_size=”full”][vc_empty_space height=”16px”][vc_column_text]If history is your cup of tea, by all means visit the Muang Boran, or Ancient City. It’s an open air museum that’s actually shaped like Thailand. There are about 115 total building throughout an area of 240 acres. You will need a bike or take the tram or rent a golf cart to see the entire area. Each section; South, North, North-East and the Central sections have buildings that are to scale of historic eras of Bangkok such as the Rattanakosin, Sukhothai and rural villages and towns.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”16px”][vc_single_image image=”3012″ css_animation=”fadeInUp” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_rounded” border_color=”grey” img_link_large=”yes” img_link_target=”_self” title=”Ancient City, Bangkok” img_size=”full”][vc_empty_space height=”16px”][vc_column_text]Finally, if you’re a film buff or want to pay your respects to Veterans, you definitely will want to visit Kanchanaburi. During WW2, it was under Japanese control and this is where the Burma Railway was built; famously represented in the movie, Bridge on the River Kwai.  There a number of memorials including 2 museums that tell the story of the forced laborers and POW’s that died building the bridge and the Kanchanaburi War Cemetary is the final resting places of many American, Dutch and other Allied soldiers who died from disease, accidents and mistreatment.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”16px”][vc_single_image image=”3011″ css_animation=”fadeInUp” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_rounded” border_color=”grey” img_link_large=”yes” img_link_target=”_self” title=”Erawan Waterfall” img_size=”full”][vc_empty_space height=”16px”][vc_single_image image=”3010″ css_animation=”fadeInUp” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_rounded” border_color=”grey” img_link_large=”yes” img_link_target=”_self” title=”Erawan Waterfall” img_size=”full”][vc_empty_space height=”16px”][vc_column_text]Take the time to get away and see some of these sights and see what Thailand has to offer in only a short day’s trip away![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
