It was a scenic dive trip. After getting out of Bangkok city, we drove pass rice field and many trees which make us feel so refreshed. This area has plenty of water resources, so people can plant rice three times a year.

Samchook Market

At 08.30 , we arrived Supanburi and stop over at Samchook market, 100 years old market which was once a famous river port which has Old Chinese settlement.

Baan Kwai (Buffalo Village)

Koi was a previous staff here. Later, she became a tour guide and went to Holland to settle there. She was the one who introduced all of us to Baan Kwai or Buffalo Village. It was our first working place as tour guide. They gave us opportunity to work here for about a year.

The place was quiet when we arrive. It looks quite old environ with more modern hall took place the demonstration rice field.  I was shocked and upset to see the place as it is. Nut told me that they serve more cooperate and show us the King regime to promote sufficient of living by use 1 rai to produce 100,000 THB/year. The project is about t a teaching farmer for living low cost and plant things for themselves. They bring agriculture academic to teach many kinds of technique such as dealing disease and insect without chemical. The 2 days project is aimed to reduce expense for farmer[vc_empty_space height=”16px”][vc_column_text]We saw the area which has pig farm, chickens, frogs, lemon, chilly, papaya, fishes, and many kinds of fruit.   The area is welled organize area and I was surprise why do not use as main a theme as tour product and activities. Later, Nut told me that this project is for TO KOR Sor Bank only.

Walk around and visited the area and notice so many change has happened to this place. As a former worker, I wish they can overcome all the problem and pass the obstructed and success.

Rice field on the Tachene River

Another highlight of the day, we visit the Tachene river to see Mr.Supan. We made no reservation to visit his place. However we see him by accident. Mr.Supan showed us about his farm. He is a warm welcoming person and enthusiastic to explain his project. He make small bamboo raft to plant rice. It is 4 rafts which is use around 8 square meters. He gets 20 kilograms of rice grant for each 4 months. This little product is an eye opening for new innovation. He did not earn benefit from a low cost rice producer but he also helps the environment and use a lot of waste such as water hyacinth and water weed to as his plantation.

Kung Pen Restaurant

The trip cannot finish without the success having a great meal. We have lunch at Kung Pen restaurant. Load of good meal for all of us before I return to Bangkok in the late afternoon.
