This is a newer plantation course a kin to the old course where an LPGA competition takes place, annually. It’s the same owner and management team that maintain both courses; therefore you can expect immaculate quality of a professional competition standard. It is this quality feels of the course that I enjoy the most about this course, the measured cut of the fairway and rough and the maintaining of the bunkers. The holes layouts are neatly waved around the contour of the landscape though not excessively defined as a mountain course, and give a unique play and challenges to each hole. My favourite impression of the course is the speed of the green, furiously fast, standing over each putt you can feel that this putt is for the championship, till the ball leaves the putter face, your adrenalin raised and kicking yourself when the putt goes 5 feet past the hole … and comfort yourself after, oh this is a professional course.Alphine Golf Course
Alphine golf course, 40Km (50 mins) North of Bangkok, made famous by Tiger Woods competed there once, not sure if he won there? This is a private course, therefore, you need an invite to play, however, there are local tour agents that can make arrangement for your play. Again for this course, I love the immaculate of the putting green, consistent and fast. Considering it is built on a flat plane of Bangkok, the elevation of the holes layouts provide a challenging mix of perceived high and low points between tee-off to green. Exclusivity, ensure very good flow of play and quality of services throughout the course of play which won’t interrupt the rhythm of the score. It is one of the finest golf course in Thailand and one that I encourage for you to experience, at least once.

This course was opened in 1958 and redesigned with 18 holes in 1987; maintained many big old trees from the old forest area and beautifully sat between mountains; exquisite view of the surrounding as the sun set as you walk up to the green on the last hole. The fairways are generous but hard and long. For a weekend golfer course, the green quality and speed are above average with added challenge of being a mountain course; therefore, get acquaintance quickly with your caddie to save your par putt. It has recently renovated the club house which is superb and the golf course is known as a Japanese golfers’ course due it weekend popularity with residing Japanese expatriates in the area; hence weekend fee is a dash high.Best Ocean Golf Course
Best Ocean golf course, 40Km (50mins) South of Bangkok, for first timer, do search on your routing before travelling as the roads are a wee complex nearer to the course. As soon as you step out from your car, you can feel the challenge of this course, as the wind blows into your face. From Google earth it is only a few kilometer from the sea, it’s the closest link course you can find for weekend golfer living in Bangkok. Plus there are plenty of water on most holes making the fairway and greens deceivingly narrows, not yet factoring in the gale wind rushing through your hair standing on the tee.
Bangsai Counry Golf Club
Bangsai country golf club: 45Km (50mins) North of Bangkok in Ayutthaya province. It is a 27 holes course, set in the middle of a rice field surrounding; miraculously, the course escaped the great Bangkok flood in 2012. This is a value for money weekend golfer course type of course especially so during the weekdays play. Nonetheless, the layout of the course is, it’s charm of mixes of layout with water, trees and a few holes with a sand bunker but a fairway size, as though you are playing on the beach. There are also mixed of short and long holes to challenge your game. Be warn, bring your swing or else bring a lot of balls.
